Original Book Cover For
Visual Composition:

A dimly lit college dorm room scene dominates the cover, with two beds on either side. On the right bed, there is a noticeable shadow that suggests someone lying there. The room is filled with unsettling details scattered artistic sketches hint at a shared passion for drawing, and a mirror with an apparent crack in its surface casts an eerie reflection. A corner shows a blood-stained pair of scissors on a desk. The ambiance is moody and suspenseful, capturing the essence of intrigue and obsession. The background subtly transitions from the darkness of the room to a pale, chilling undertone of blue outside the window.

Design Typography:

Use of bold, condensed sans-serif fonts for the title "Bound By Obsession" in white, creating a stark contrast against the darker background. The subtitle, if necessary, could use a lighter serif font to add elegance amidst the thriller theme.

Design Layout:

Title is strategically placed near the center, overlapping slightly with the shadow to draw immediate attention. The author’s name could be centered near the bottom of the cover. Details like the scissors and mirror strategically enhance the mood without cluttering the visual space.

Rationale Behind the Design:

The visual composition capitalizes on the intimate setting of a college dorm room, incorporating elements that suggest both comfort and underlying darkness. Bold typography ensures the title is the central focal point, suggesting the weight and importance of the narrative's tense media. The use of a matte finish minimizes glare, enhancing the visual impact. Meanwhile, the spot UV gives the title slight prominence, aligning with the book's thriller nature. This combination evokes a sense of mystery and intrigue, urging potential readers to explore the secrets within.
